Week 17 from Little Bear

  It is getting a little crisp out there in the mornings and evenings, and soon we will be harvesting our fall potatoes, carrots, parsnips, broccoli, etc.  But the days are still warm and clear, and our summer vegetables are still producing, so please look forward to lots of peppers this week, as well as some fall additions such as collard greens.

Here is a garden vegetable chowder we made recently, to use some of our piles of produce (ehem -- summer squash) that we have at the moment.  A great way to straddle summer and enjoy some wamth on a cool fall day at the same time.  We used onions, basil, zucchini, patty pan, cayenne pepper and greens, but really anything tastes great in the right soup.
