Week 15 -- Try these recipes!

Hi Everyone --

Here are two of our favorite family recipes, and conveniently, many of the ingredients will be in your veggie delivery in plentiful quantities.  Cooler, wetter weather has really given many of our crops a second wind, and we are enjoying a legitimate harvest season at the moment.

First:  Kate's amazing Roasted Leek and White Bean Galette -- https://smittenkitchen.com/2015/11/roasted-leek-and-white-bean-galettes/  This delicious savory tart is astonishingly good hot out of the oven, but I often enjoy them cold in the field for lunch the next day too.  I can't recommend these galette's enough!

Second:  Zucchini Carrot Fritters.  http://cooking.nytimes.com/recipes/1013317-zucchini-and-carrot-fritters-with-yogurt-mint-dip  A great way to use those plentiful patty pan and zuke squash, and many veggies can be added and substituted too, such as scallions or chard.  We ate these tonight with yogurt dip (and some fried green tomatoes as well.)

The tomatoes are finished for the year, but I will have a bucket of green tomatoes for frying if you like them, please take as many as you want at pickup.

We have many more vegetables on their way in the coming weeks (including more potatoes, carrots, broccoli, parsnips, arugula) so keep eating and enjoy the cooling weather!
